Ferraris wins 170-pound Berman Title

Senior Anthony Ferraris won four matches over two days to capture the 170 lbs. title of the 27-team Berman Holiday classic at Palatine High School.

Junior Steve Galiardo finished fourth at 138 lbs. while junior Joe Urso placed fifth at 220 lbs.

The Shamrocks finished 17th overall with 83 points, while Hinsdale Central (178.5), Lincoln-Way Central (153.5) and Lemont (145) rounded out the top three.

Shamrocks 2nd at Rex Lewis Invitational

Juniors Steve Galiardo (138) and Dom Boggia (126) won individual titles to help lead the Shamrocks to a 2nd place finish Saturday at the annual Rex Lewis Invitational at Buffalo Grove High School. Senior Anthony Ferraris placed second at 170-pounds, while seven other Shamrocks finished in the top 5.

Friday night the Shamrocks improved their season dual record to 7-5 after picking up three wins over Catholic League opponents Fenwick, St. Ignatius, and St. Laurence.

Shamrocks finish 2nd at Carmel Dual Team Tourney

The St. Pat's varsity wrestlers placed 2nd out of 8 teams at the Carmel Dual Team Tournament Saturday in Mundelein. The Shamrocks top performers included four wrestlers who went 5-0 on the day: Steve Galiardo (138), Anthony Ferraris (170), Anthony Escobar (182), and Joe Cursor (220).
